Step Into Newsletter – August 22, 2025

Join us this weekend as we celebrate one year of Step Into Vision.

This Week on Step Into Vision

This week has been light on examples and labs. We’ve been busy preparing some new initiatives. Make sure to join us this weekend for some announcements about what lies.

Example Code: How to change immersive style at runtime – Our apps can switch between mixed, progressive, and full immersion.

Lab 077: Ornaments in Presentations – We can add ornaments to popovers shown by PresentationComponent, but I’m not sure if we should.

Lab 078: Building a glass material box – Using spatialOverlay wrap any SwiftUI view in glass material panes.

Project Graveyard – Devlog 005 – Joseph shared an update about the latest features and opened a TestFlight for version 3.0. See also: Project Graveyard On Apple Vision Pro Is A Free Place For Dead Ideas. Ian Hamilton did a short write up about Project Graveyard.

PhotoDome on Apple Vision Pro is a delightful way to revisit photos and albums. Combining XR concepts and interfaces with the rest of my computing life is why I’m so excited about visionOS. The developer of this app did an amazing job.

Step Into Vision has a Discord Server now. We’ve invited our existing LinkedIn community and we’ll open it up to more folks soon. If you would like access, please DM Joseph on Bluesky or LinkedIn.

We hope to see you at Step Into Vision Office Hours and at our birthday bash this weekend!
