Dark Spaces – Devlog 002

Between sky and earth, the horizon is gone.

I had some time this afternoon to work on an idea for a scene called Between. All the work for this was done in Reality Composer Pro, so there is no code to share today.

Scene Breakdown

  • Ground: a cylinder with a dark concrete material
  • Sky: a cylinder with a sky material. A false sky painted on the surface.
  • Lights:
    • Black image based light to reduce overall environmental light
    • Two directional lights pointed at the sky and ground
  • Blackness: a sphere with a black material on the inside face.
    • A behavior runs a timeline when the scene starts. This will scale this to a very small size over time.
