WWDC 2025 – Excited for visionOS 26
My favorites from the Keynote.
My Favorites
The star of the show is Widgets. This was the big missing piece of visionOS and I’m glad to see it finally arriving. Widgets are customizable and can be pinned to a location. I’m excited to learn how to make these over the next few days. Widgets may even make me rethink some app ideas like Looming Deadlines.
Hand Tracking improvements: 90 hertz hand tracking! Laggy hand tracking has been one of the biggest drawbacks of visionOS so far. I’m very excited to see how well this works. Hand tracking on visionOS has always been accurate. Hopefully now it will also be fast.
Look to scroll. As someone with physic issues, I’m very excited about this one. Anything that helps me use my hands less is. huge quality of life improvement for me.
Spatial stylus support with Logitech Muse. A much needed input for creativity and expression. I used the Logitech Ink with m Quest 3 for a while before getting rid of the headset. It was a magical experience and I’m glad I get to have it again on a much better headset.
Support for PS VR 2 motion tracked controllers will open up the possibility of porting many of the best VR games and apps to Apple Vision Pro.
Nearby experiences has to be one of the most requested features. I’ve lost count of how many people and companies have asked about this. We can start to unwind some the hacky workarounds we’re using now.
Other features
Spatial scenes: this one was hard to grok while watching a flat video. I’m interested to try it in headset to see how this compares to the photo conversion we have now.
The new Personas look amazing. No more smushed “hair-hat” things passing for hair.
The new Jupiter environment looks breathtaking.
Folders on the Home View. Thank goodness. Mine was getting out of control.
What’s next?
