This Week on Step Into Vision

Things have been pretty busy around here. We are hard at work bringing new content and resources to the visionOS community. We also have a few secret initiatives that we’re working on. More on those soon!

We continue to make progress on our Timelines series with three new examples.

Compose Timelines. – We can next Timelines in others to group actions into small reusable sequences.

Composing Timelines with Collision Behaviors. – We can use Behaviors in a parent scene to trigger Timelines in a child scene.

Select multiple Entities with Collision Behaviors. – The OnCollision Behavior can fire a Timeline when colliding with more than one Entity.

On the Calendar

Join us every Wednesday and Friday for Step Into Vision Office Hours. These meetings are the best place to connect with others in our industry. We help each other with technical challenges, share success stores, and support each other. You can find information about these meetings on our new Community Calendar. Make sure to check out the first week of December. There are events in New York, Berlin, Tokyo, and Brussels.

The community calendar is a free resource for the Apple Vision Pro community. If you would like us to list your event, please send us the info.

Shared Visions Update

We just wrapped up the Call for Stories. Thank you to the 26 people who took time to complete this questionnaire. This information will be invaluable in our writing and theme process. Our thanks to Mel Randall for kicking this process off and leading the Story team.

We also put out a call for Team Leads and gathered several volunteers. Thank you to everyone who stepped up to lead! Let’s create something incredible together.

From the Community

Last week at office hours, two of our community members shared new open source projects.

Energy Atlas by Luis Goicouria is a visionOS data visualization tool for global energy consumption. You can also get it for free on the App Store.

Justin Leger from Southwest shared an incredible new tool for steaming Blender scenes to Apple Vision Pro. Check out the project on GitHub: Vision Pro Blender Live Streamer.
