Step Into Newsletter – November 14, 2025

Work with timelines, get started with video, and attend community events.

This Week on Step Into Vision

We’ve got three new examples for our Behaviors, Timelines, and Entity Actions series. This is a small part of our larger Animations section, which was kicked off by this article.

Working with Timelines. – We can use RealityKit Timelines to add interaction and animation to our scenes.

Working with Entity Actions. – We can use Entity Actions in Timelines to animate changes to our scenes.

Sending one Notification to trigger multiple Behaviors. – We can trigger more than one Behavior/Timeline using a single notification, even when the timelines are defined in different files.

On another topic, we have an awesome article by Florent Morin of STUDIO·84. Getting Started with Video on visionOS will help you master video playback on Apple Vision Pro.

A first for Step Into Vision, we have a guest Lab from Michael Temper, who is working on a course for visionOS at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. This is the first of seven labs in this mini-series.

Lab 094 – Visualize a Pivot Point. – Using a Draw Component and System to visualize the position of a given entity’s pivot point in space.

On the Calendar

December 7: Miguel Garcia Gonzalez is hosting a visionOS Happy Hour event during UnitedXR in Brussels.

Our new Community Calendar showcases events like this, plus our weekly Office Hours meetings, and some upcoming workshops from Apple. We’re still working on this feature, but people are already finding it useful.

I will be in New York the week of December 1st to attend a visionOS Workshop with Apple. I may organize hangout some time that week. It will be somewhere in Manhattan. Let me know if you’re interested!
