Step Into Newsletter – May 30, 2025
Starting the Spatial Interfaces series, a WWDC Wishlist, and an upcoming community event.
Happy Friday! This is your weekly recap from Step Into Vision. I hope to see you at Office Hours later today.
What’s new on Step Into Vision
I have a new series for you called Spatial Interfaces. This series will be a little different than the others on the site. Most of the series I’ve done so far have been in the Example Code category, to document and explain some core concepts. In Spatial Interfaces, we’ll explore some ideas for using SwiftUI, RealityKit, and ARKit to build Spatial Computing interfaces and controls. The first post in this series starts small, with an adaptation of a three pane interface.
Spatial Interfaces: Three Pane Window – Mocking up a slightly more spatial version of a NavigationSplitView with an Inspector.
I also started work on a new scene for Dark Spaces. Devlog 010: What it would be like to visit a gallery in the absence of art.
In Lab 055 I had a little fun playing with namespaces hover effects.
Last Sunday I published my epic wishlist for changes and features that I hope to see at WWDC.
WWDC 2025 Vision Pro Developers Wishlist
Community Event
Calling visionOS developers, join us for a recap of the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union. We’ll talk about all the new announcements for visionOS and what we’re most excited about building.

More information and registration.
From the Community
Hunter Harris has open sourced several Swift packages for visionOS development. He recently created a website to gather them all in one place.
Michael Temper released his puzzle game Porta Nubi on the App Store.
D-Day: The Camera Soldier is one of the most impressive pieces of immersive media I’ve ever seen. It combines immersive video and images with 3D content into something special.
After today I’m taking a mini-vacation to rest up before WWDC. You won’t hear from me too much until next week. I do have some articles and lab scheduled to post while I’m away, so at least I can keep my streak going.
