Step Into Newsletter – April 17, 2026

Quick updates, WWDC Events, Shared Visions progress, and Community Resources.

Quick Updates

Last week we dropped episode 003 of our new podcast. Paolo is joined by Steve Talkowski to talk about his 3D art career and his journey into visionOS creation.

We’ve been laser focused on the Shared Visions project and some WWDC prep, so our main content hiatus continues. In lieu of any new example code, if you need help with anything, make sure to stop by Office Hours. We meet every Wednesday and Friday.

Reminder that we’ll be at WWDC this year. We even had a handful of events.

Shared Visions

We launched a new internal tool called Story Drop for our community project. This web app lets our participants create profiles, coordinate interviews, and upload assets for the documentary. Our team of producers and project managers is using this tool to match people up, schedule recordings, and work with participants to make sure they have everything they need.

Once an interview is recorded, it can be uploaded to Story Drop. Paolo and the editing team can download the assets on a central workstation and start plugging them into the workflow. Paolo has been documenting the video editing pipeline and related tooling. He gave is a quick tour at our latest community meeting.

Mike recently shared a video demo to show us the progress of the timeline player. Check it out!

This recording ignited some ideas from our Design and UX team. It’s going to be awesome to see how the timeline and related controls take shape over the next few weeks.

We’re already working on interviews for a small cohort, with more scheduled as soon as we can. If you’re part of the Shared Vision project, make sure you check your email for details on how to access Story Drop. If haven’t joined is, you are welcome to sign up. We can’t guaranteed we’ll get to everyone this late in the project, but we’ll do our best.
