Step Into Newsletter – February 20, 2026

Shared Visions, Community Updates, and a new host at Office Hours EMEA.

We don’t have any new examples or labs for you this week. Most of our energy has been going into Shared Visions. We did make some time to record our first podcast episode though. It went really well and we already have two more episodes planned. We’ll have more to share on this topic soon!

Shared Visions

We’ve made a lot of progress on Shared Visions recently. UX and design is in progress, the video team is setting up a production pipeline, and the app team is building prototypes. We made great progress on Story and interview questions this week. We going to be meeting every Wednesday for the next few months to push this project forward. We really want to have something ready by WWDC.

Make sure to catch the recordings of our workshops. The latest one includes a lot of information on story art and interview questions–work that will strongly influence the rest of the project.

From the Community

Polycarc released their fork of Unreal Engine. It’s been amazing to watch this community explore a new (to us) tool.

Donny Wals wrote a great article that most developers should read. The importance of human touch in AI-driven development.

Todd Heberlein shared a work in progress immersive environment that you can experience in Safari. Check out Trench Cafe.

Bekhruz Hakmirzaev released a custom gesture demo app along with an article that explores these ideas.

Serge Vi launched a TestFlight for his first visionOS app: Spatial Paper Planes.

Matt Fisher launched two new apps that focus on Spatial Video. Slow Spatial on iPhone and Big Shot for Mac.

Tim Mitra published the latest edition of diff visionOS. Tim also invited Mike Bundy on his podcast to talk about visionOS, game development, and community.

Don’t Miss: Apple added a new Foveated Streaming feature to the visionOS 26.4 beta. They even had a full Sample Code app and article ready to teach us all about this.

Office Hours

The Step Into Vision community meets every week. Join us every Wednesday and Friday at Office Hours. Starting next week we have a new host of the Wednesday EMEA meeting: Step Into Vision welcomes Juan Moya as the new host of Office Hours EMEA.
