What’s new from Step Into Vision
Our latest podcast episode features Mel Randall and Sheba Mayer to talk about creating their new app: Arluma360. This week we recorded another new episode with members of the Shared Visions Project. Our goal was to provide a snapshot in time of where the project is. Get subscribed so you don’t miss it.
If you follow us on social media you may have notice we’ve been revisiting the RealityKit Basics series. Check out the latest example and dive into the while series to get up to speed on RealityKit.
RealityKit Basics: Create shapes with MeshDescriptor. We can use MeshDescriptor to build shapes and render them with MeshResource.
Reminder: We’ll be at WWDC this year. Learn about our events and come find us if you’re in town.
We’ve been in the labs tinkering with portals again.
Lab 102 – Input works with Portals in Immersive Spaces. A follow up to lab 093, where input was not working when using portals in a window. Input does work when using the same portal scene in an immersive space.
Lab 104 – Portal Orb. Setting up a lab to play with some ideas for using RealityKit Portals.
We also starting making a series of labs to explore ideas for a potential new project. Check out Lab 105 to see how these were built, then give into the others to explore further.

Building the scenes: Lab 105 – Vapor • Lab 106 – Mist • Lab 107 – Droplet
Lab 108 – Cycle. In this lab, we cycle through the scenes created in Labs 105-107.
Lab 109 – Layers. – Standing in one world while seeing layers of two others.
Lab 110 – Curved Display Surface. Using MeshDescriptor to create a curved surface we used in Lab 109.

Yesterday we celebrated a new milestone: we published our 500th post on Step Into Vision. We have so much more to bring you in the future. If you get any value from our work, please consider supporting us directly or on Ko-fi.
